Cathy Flagg
She talked about the name of the Church being The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She remembers several times in her life where the prophets have encouraged us to use the proper name of the church.
Quoted Pres Nelson, “Let me explain why we care so deeply about this issue. But first let me state what this effort is not:
It is not a name change.
It is not rebranding.
It is not cosmetic.
It is not a whim.
And it is not inconsequential.
Instead, it is a correction. It is the command of the Lord. Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. It was the Savior Himself who said, “For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. President Nelson's talk "The Correct Name of the Church"
Some reasons why this is important:
-To undo the confusion. Media and others refer to the Church in various ways.
-Because Christ gave us the name.
-Because each word in the name has meaning.
-So we are all on the same page.
Her whole name is:
Cathy Jean "Legs" Bills Flagg.

Why is the BofM important in your life?
We are all being converted continually as we read the BofM
“If there were no BofM there would be no gathering”
A testament
A record
It confirms details about:
The individual identity of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ
The fall of Adam
Need for baptism
Fulfills biblical prophecies
Clarified pre-mortal existence
Postmortal existence
The power of the Word is more powerful than the sword. The BofM is powerful.
Second Hour
Elders Quorum
Brother Matt Saunders taught the lesson today and here are some notes:
Elder Carpenter Wilt Thou Be Made Whole
The word “whole”, what does it mean: Everything, all parts; Complete; Fullness; Being in order; Unbroken, undamaged; Intact
Where does willingness come from?
The one thing you can give back to God is your will

Sister Beth Gerrard taught the lesson today on the Conference talk given by Elder Jack N. Gerard. The title is, "Now is the Time." We discussed assessing our lives. Are we doing the things that are preparing us for when we leave this earth? Are we choosing to prioritize our lives in the BEST way? We discussed different things we need to be doing in our lives and how to make sure we are striving to align ourselves with an Eternal Perspective.
