Warm Springs Stake Conference will be October 19-20
  • Saturday, 10/19 @ 6pm - Adult session
  • Sunday, 10/20 @ 6:30am - Leadership session; all auxiliary presidencies with secretaries

Sacrament Meeting
Announcements
  • The Temple Prep Class - This Wednesday at 7pm in the Relief Society room. It will be in conjunction with our regular gospel study meetings. All are invited to attend.
  • The Las Vegas Temple will be closed for extensive renovations until the 18th of November. Please continue to attend the temple regularly at the St. George temple until our temple re-opens. 
  • Stake Choir Practice: all sisters 12 and older are invited to participate. Rehearsal on Saturday, Oct 19 at 9 AM
  • The Trunk or Treat is on Tuesday, October 29th at 6pm at our church building.

Elder Nelson’s talk from April
Satan tries to block us from Jesus Christ. 
His dad was the bishop when he was young and he wouldn’t tell him all his dirt in a bishops interview. 
But he remembers the first time he really repented and it was very spiritual. 
When we repent, Christ wants us to change our mind. 
Repentance also means following the promptings of the Holy Ghost. 
When we repent, we choose to change. 
Had an experience in college where he made some good friends and the got invited to a party but on the way, they felt like something was wrong and they decided not to go in. They got dropped off and he called his uncle to pick him up, but his buddy stayed at the party. He later found out that really bad stuff happened at that party and people got in trouble. That even shaped his friend's life in a negative way. 
Our bishop is a friendly guy so don’t delay, repent today!

Jennifer Barker
She has lived a variety of different family situations. 
She appreciated President Nelson’s talk about the blessings of the priesthood. 
Women are blessed by priesthood power even if they are without a priesthood bearer in their home. The covenants they make in the temple endows them with this power and protection. 
Jesus is joy. 
We love ourselves and others and we don’t let family members treat us badly and we don’t treat them badly. 
The home is the most holy of any place of worship on the earth. 
Your family members must see you progressing in the gospel. 
We should worry most about keeping our covenants and the family arrangements in heaven will be better than we can imagine. 

Matt Pierce
Had to fill in a few minutes of leftover time. He said something about his mission and other missionaries turning against him. 


Second Hour
Relief Society
We discussed the April 2019 General Conference talk given by Kyle McKay "The Immediate Goodness of God" Elder McKay was here in Las Vegas for our Stake Conference, knowing him made this talk very personal. We resolved that no matter the difficulty of our circumstances, we can always see the many ways God is blessing us. The challenge is we must look. Instead of focusing on the challenge, look for the blessings in every situation.

Young Men/Young Women
We are having a combined activity at the Flagg's house this Tuesday at 6pm. We will be playing volleyball and Bishop Flagg will be keeping things exciting.

Ward Youth Council will be at the Flagg's house at 6pm, just before the activity.


Primary
The Nicholes family will be celebrating the baptism of Lucy Nicholes and the blessing of Noah Aaron Nicholes on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00am at the stake center.

Our annual Trunk or Treat will be on Tuesday, October 29 at 6:00pm. Please note that the parking lot next to the pavilion will be roped off for those who will be participating in decorating their cars for trunk or treat and handing out treats. This is to ensure the safety of the children.


New Youth Program Info

Missionary Dinners - Please invite our awesome sister missionaries over to your home for dinner! You can call them anytime at 702-203-7341
  • On weekdays, the mission would like you to have a recent convert, a less active member, or a non-member present at the dinner.  
  • On weekends, anything goes. Get them over and get them fed.

Please take some time this week to reach out to those in our ward who haven't been out to Church for a while. Let them know we miss them and care about them.
