Matt Pierce
When do you know you're being prepared for something?
Got burned for two huge touchdowns in HS football. So he decided to run a mile backwards every day. That was a preparation to be better.
That was an event that showed him he needed better preparation.
Bob Peters was getting a tree trimmed and told Matt his youngest daughter passed away and that it shook his faith. So, how do you prepare for something like that?
Gets into tunnel vision sometimes at work. But then realized that he needed to focus more on his calling of ward mission leader.
The main point is, we are always being prepared for something. Especially when hard things are happening to us.
Spilled juice on his scriptures but they’re not even sticky. He thinks that is cool.

Chuck England
He’s glad to be moving on to a new year.
What’s your commitment to the Lord?
Wonders about the power of doing the simple things consistently.
Gives himself a hard time about not doing all the details of the gospel perfectly.
Wants to be more consistent this coming year.
He likes the closeness to the Spirit that he feels when he does things consistently.
Loves that the Lord has changed him in all kinds of ways.
He prays the each of us will be all in instead of partially in.

Bishop Burnham
Loves his counselors.
Appreciates and is proud of the service that all the ward members do.
Always wants to know how people’s personal prayers are going and how their scripture study is going.
Quoted Dale Hunt, “It is so very important to learn the gospel of Jesus Christ and to understand it.”
We don’t have to cross the plains no days but we do need to cross the street to get to know our neighbor.
Remembers people who have ministered to him and his family throughout his life.
The ward is a big way that Heavenly Father helps us to grow and progress.

Second Hour
We talked about the Pathway program for higher education.
Learn all about his here: https://www.byupathway.org/

Relief Society
Relief Society Theme for 2020 is "Just Show Up" We don't need to be perfect or have all the answers. We need to just show up and be a friend. We need to just show up and participate in Scripture Study and Prayer. We need to just show up and let your neighbors, family and friends see a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

Primary
The primary children will have a meet and greet with their primary teachers on Saturday, January 11. Mark your calendar's and there will be more details to come!
