Bermuda Ward Sunday Sampler - 12/20/20

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We as a Stake Presidency have counseled together and sought inspiration to direct us in selecting a Warm Springs Stake Theme for the year 2021. We quickly concluded that the title of President Nelson’s October 2020 message in the Sunday Morning Session of General Conference would be inspiring and motivating for all of us: “Let God Prevail”. Through President Nelson’s studies of the gathering of Israel, he learned that one of the meanings of the word Israel refers to a person who is willing to let God prevail in his or her life. We invite you to personally study President Nelson’s remarks and ponder the question, “How can I let “God Prevail” more fully in my life and daily actions, as a disciple of Jesus Christ?
The following quotes from President Nelson’s talk will help guide us through today’s perilous and confusing “mists of darkness” and provide comfort and hope for the fulfillment of promised eternal blessings by keeping commandments and covenants as we proceed along the covenant path.
“Are you willing to let God prevail in your life? Are you willing to let God be the most important influence in your life? Will you allow His words, His Commandments, and His covenants to influence what you do each day? Will you allow His voice to take priority over any other? Are you willing to let whatever He needs you to do take precedence over every other ambition? Are you willing to have your will swallowed up in His?”
“If you have sincere questions about the gospel or the Church, as you choose to let God prevail, you will be led to find and understand the absolute, eternal truths that will guide your life and help you stay firmly on the covenant path.”
“Now, my dear brothers and sisters, it takes both faith and courage to let God prevail. It takes persistent, rigorous spiritual work to repent and put off the natural man through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It takes consistent, daily effort to develop personal habits to study the gospel, to learn more about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and to seek and respond to personal revelation.”
During this Christmas season, we as a Stake Presidency extend our love and concern for each of you, we pray for each of you and all within our stake. At this time of year and our pandemic circumstances, we encourage all to feel a spirit of giving and of gratitude. We hope that the celebration of Christmas will help us to always remember the Savior and His gifts to us and, to serve others. May the peace, hope and joy that come through Him be present in the lives and hearts of each of us.

The gift of music
Christ’s life began with music when the herald angels sang at his birth. His life was concluding when he sang a simple hymn with His apostles.
The inspiration from music is a large part of our worship services.
Hymns unify us as members
Music is a big part of girls camp
Sang called to serve at the MTC and it was awesome.
She ran away from home when she was upset at her kids, but she came back and sang some hymns, and then everything was ok.
She is grateful for music and everything it teaches her about the Savior

The Christmas story in 1st Nephi. He wanted to see what his father saw in vision. And the angel showed him the birth of the Lamb of God.
Thinks that perhaps the Tree of Life in 1st Nephi is the same as a Christmas tree. The tree is the love of God.
The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our life and everything to do with the focus of our lives.
There is nothing more important we can do than rivet our attention on the Savior.
We need to search for Christ, not chaos.
Seek His righteousness which is to seek His attributes.
Today, go to LDS.org and spend 15 minutes.
Staying focused on Christ is an opportunity for personal revelation.
